An introduction to the Urban Nun

A devoted Catholic, I think I am

A fashionista , I sure hope so

A shopaholic , I am  ( I can shop till I drop, literally)

A well groomed mum, I am ( at least that's what people tell me all the time)

A freelance image consultant , I am (to my friends and people that I know, that is)

A real nun ? No, I am not.  I am just a mother of 2 who stays true to her religion, has an accounting background and a strong passion for fashion.  I do not believe in "a mother should act her age, dress her age, etc .... "  I do not look my age, I don't look like a mother of 2 teenage boys and YES,  I hang out with my son's friends too( we go to the movies, we shop and we do all kind of stuff together).

I love designer labels but I am not decked out from head to toes in designer labels.  I believe in having one's very own style.  I dress what I feel comfortable in but never sloppy.  I share some of my stuff with my elder son, shirts, belts, accessories, jackets. What's my signature style ?   I love to pile on the accessories and complete my look with a designer handbag.   Unfortunately, most of my precious accessories went missing while they were in transit  to Australia and were never found.  I believed they were intentionally taken by the Movers that I have hired when I relocated back to Australia.   The people who took my stuff sure knew my stuff very well and which box to take 'cos my Chanel, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs and  Hermes bags were gone too.

Why the name Urban Nun then ?  Well, I love the urban life and have always enjoyed and lead an active lifestyle during my days in Singapore.  There were so much to do, so many places to go to and so many people to meet.   Rejoining my family in Melbourne has changed all that.  I now spend most of my days at home, cooking, reading, watching DVDs, gardening, not forgetting PRAYING.  Having a change of environment might have changed the way I live  but it does not change the passion I have for fashion and all things urban.  Thus, urban nun is born.

I truly believe that a mother should maintain her own personality, style and life.  I will be posting pictures of the things that I wear, love, use or simply things that I find fascinating !!
